Yvelis is our brand for those who want Swedish scented candles and stearin candles with quality, care and thoughtful design. All products are handmade by us at Roslagens Ljusmakeri, our family business with a workshop outside Norrtälje. Here we create candles in small batches using carefully selected raw materials and with great pride in our craft.
With us you will find scented candles, stearin candles and reed diffusers that are vegan, made with conscious material choices and created to maintain a high standard in both fragrance and burn time.
How it all began
My name is Yvonne Medin and I started Yvelis more than 15 years ago. At the time I was working as a department store manager, but I longed to work with something I truly cared about. I have always loved perfumes and scented candles, but I found it difficult to find candles that both smelled beautiful and felt gentle to use in everyday life.
So I started experimenting on my own. How difficult could it be? I quickly realized it was far more complex than I expected. I tested countless raw materials, fragrance oils and waxes. After many trials with materials, scents and techniques, I eventually found the right balance of quality and performance. That is how Yvelis was born, named after my first names Yvonne and Elisabeth.
Over time the business grew, and today all production takes place at Roslagens Ljusmakeri, our family company where craftsmanship is at the core.

The people behind Yvelis
Today I run the company together with my husband Jörgen, who is responsible for logistics and trade fairs. My daughter Caroline is also an essential part of the business and works both in production and with our retailers.
We make all candles ourselves in our workshop, located in the same building as our shop, close to our home in the countryside outside Norrtälje in Roslagen. This allows us full control over quality in every step of the process.
Our craft and materials
For us, quality is about both raw materials and knowledge.
Our scented candles are made from Swedish rapeseed wax, a eco-friendly choice with a short transport distance. Rapeseed grows around us here in Sweden. We do not use paraffin, palm oil or soy wax.
Our stearin candles are handmade from olive stearin based on pure olive oil with ECOCERT certification. It is completely vegan, free from animal fats and without palm oil. It is not the easiest raw material to work with, but we believe the result is worth it. As the candles burn, a beautiful spider-web pattern forms, making each candle alive and unique.
The fragrances come from carefully selected perfume houses in France as well as essential oils. Our scents are authentic, well balanced and long-lasting, and they smell true to their names. We work extensively with fragrance balance so the scent feels pleasant in the home. Many customers appreciate that our candles feel soft and do not create the heavy sensation that strong fragrances sometimes can.
Our collections
The Original Collection comes in frosted glass with soft colours that fit beautifully in many interiors and are appreciated as gifts. Each candle includes a lid made from beech wood.
In the same glass we also offer our Essential Collection, which is uncoloured and scented with pure essential oils. A beech wood lid is included here as well. This collection is ideal for those who prefer a more natural fragrance experience with essential oils in focus.
Nature by Yvelis is our more exclusive series in mist-green glass with a clear premium expression. The candles are delivered in a sleek black box and do not include a wooden lid.
Regardless of collection, the foundation is the same. Swedish craftsmanship, carefully selected raw materials and candles created to be used and appreciated for a long time.
