Handmade scented candles and stearin candles from Roslagen
Yvelis is our brand of handmade scented candles, stearin candles and reed diffusers, sold in stores across Sweden. All products are made by us at Roslagens Ljusmakeri, our family business with a workshop just outside Norrtälje.
We work in small batches using carefully selected raw materials and years of experience in candle making. Our goal is simple: to create products that work well in retail, that customers appreciate, and that they come back for.
How it all started
My name is Yvonne Medin, and I started Yvelis over 15 years ago. At the time, I worked as a department store manager, but I wanted to work with something I truly cared about.
I have always had a strong interest in fragrance, but found that many scented candles either had very little scent or were too strong and artificial. At the same time, it was difficult to find alternatives made with well-considered raw materials.
So I started experimenting on my own.
It turned out to be far more complex than I expected. After years of testing waxes, fragrances and techniques, I finally found the right balance. That’s how Yvelis was created, named after my first names Yvonne and Elisabeth.
Over time, the business grew, and today all production takes place at Roslagens Ljusmakeri, where we still work the same way: small-scale, carefully and with a strong focus on quality.

We are a family business.
Today, I run Roslagens Ljusmakeri together with my husband Jörgen, who manages logistics and trade fairs.
We stay close to both production and our customers, which allows us to be flexible and maintain full control over quality, deliveries and assortment.
Our craftsmanship and materials
All production takes place in our own workshop, which allows us to control quality at every step.
Our scented candles are made from Swedish rapeseed wax. Our stearin candles are handmade using olive-based stearin made from pure olive oil.
All products are vegan and free from paraffin, palm oil and animal fats.
Our fragrances come from carefully selected perfume houses in France, as well as essential oils. We focus strongly on balance – the scent should be clearly noticeable when the candle is burning, yet still feel pleasant in a room.
This is one of the main reasons our products work well in stores and why many customers return.

Original Collection
Frosted glass in soft colours that suit many interiors. Popular as gifts.
Essential Oil Collection
The same glass, but without colour and scented with pure essential oils.
Nature by Yvelis
Our more premium range in dim green glass with a more distinct expression.
Regardless of collection, the foundation is the same:
Handmade in Sweden, carefully selected raw materials, and scents that feel authentic.
